Post Number Four

Got my headphones yesterday. And all I can say is that they are amazing. At first listen, I was pretty disappointed. The balance was almost painful. It felt way too airy and the bass was definitely lacking. But after some tinkering with the EQ, saying they are eargasmic is an understatement. I was pretty bored yesterday, so I actually snapped a couple photos. You know, for the mem'ries.

Me and my AKG K701s
I did some listening to music, played some black ops and reach. And each had their own certain feel in terms of audio quality. Some was a bit much to handle, but I realized that my PC would be a perfect buffer for now. I didn't bother buying an amp at the same time, for fiscal reasons, and I could definitely tell they weren't reaching their full potential. I decided to run all my sound through my on board sound card and the results were definitely noticeable. I now have it to the point where I am satisfied with all the sounds that I hear (footsteps, gunshots, explosions) and they all sound good.

$275 did sound like a lot when I was shopping around, but after reading reviews and finding out all that I could about them, I am definitely satisfied with my purchase and I am looking forward to using them as much as I can in the future.

In other news, I decided to become good at Halo. I used to play a bunch, but now that I played Blops for so long, I can feel my skills are slipping. So, ima become pro. Maybe.

Post Number Three

Well, today is the day. I ordered my new pair of headphones last week and they are supposed to arrive here around 4 or 5. I'm very excited to say the least. I have been using a pair of meh Skullcandies that I picked up oh, 6 or so years ago. Now seemed like a good time to be upgrading and getting some, you know, good headphones.

Other than that, what have I been doing? Nothing I guess, starting to feel better about my current relationship status (single after a four year relationship through highschool). I have found that I can still entertain myself while alone at home, and I have a good friend. I figure that my situation will change once I get back to school, but I don't want to expect too much.

I have been trying to do a lot to actually make progress in something. I have been looking for apartments, making blogs, making videos (blops montages :/), trying to make new friends, improving my typing speed, improving my reading speed (speed reading, fun stuff), and I can honestly say that I have become more helpful around the house. I never really was much of helper, but I do see the purpose of the little things. Taking in one cup before it becomes a mound of stuff that you just don't feel like dealing with until you absolutely have to.

I feel good, and for good reason. And that is a wonderful thing to be able to say.

Post Number Two

Well, I am already doing better at blogging than ever before. Post number 2! That's definitely a record.

Any who, I stumbled across the Battlefield 3 gameplay demo, and I can't describe how excited I am for it. Even aside from graphics, the animations look crisp along with the fight sequence. It's difficult to describe, but it just looks and 'feels' amazing.

Post Number One

So, I'm giving this whole blogging thing a go. Hopefully, I'll actually continue blogging unlike what I have done with many other activities like this (journals and the likes). I'm not entirely sure what topics to talk about, I'm just not feeling passionate about a lot of things lately. We'll just use this first post as a in introduction I s'pose.

Well, my name is Jimmy Fallon. I am a avid game player and am going to be attending school for a BA in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Engineering. I am hoping to be a game programmer. I was attending a different school previously but it was all the art and animation that comes with games. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I knew that wasn't what I truly wanted to do. Anyway, moving on from that, I play Black Ops (like everyone does), but I don't really like it all that much. I am really only playing it because I haven't found a new game to really latch onto. Minecraft helps, but sometimes I just want variety.

I am super excited for Battlefront 3, but I don't really have any experience in the series, so hopefully that turns out well. I loved Halo, but I never really got into Reach, and I never really had some good bros to play with that were good and fun to play with (and played things other than SWAT).

Other than that, I play League of Legends and TF2 along with the occasional single player game like the Fallout series, Oblivion, God of War series, Final Fantasy (mostly just X). Same with Halo, I played MAG, but never got into it like I did the Call of Duty series. Oh, and I picked up StarCraft 2, but turned out to be quite bad compared to my competition. I like Age of Empires, but I never played against other people, usually just AI skirmishes.

I s'pose I'll leave it at that for now. See what kinda stuff I'm gonna want to talk about.
